Nordmann Engineering was founded as a joint stock company in 1986 in Reinach near Basel, Switzerland. In 1987 they delivery of the first steam humidifier, in 1988 delivery of the first steam bath generator.

Innovation was always a driving power at Walter Meier (Climate International) Ltd., be it by using modern technologies and materials, or by new methods, like for example, the revolutionary and worldwide-patented SC-System which minimises the amount of lime residues in steam cylinders.
Quality was another uncompromising requirement for success. In 1993 Walter Meier (Climate International) Ltd. high standard of quality was confirmed by the SQS and Nordmann received the ISO 9001 certificate. This was renewed with the updated ISO 9001:2000 in 2002.
